How to do this drill
- Create columns for item, value, and status.
- Process the notice once without full-sentence notes.
- Answer from labels, then verify against the script.
Material
The Orchard Lane repair café opens at nine thirty on Saturday. Small appliances are accepted until one, but sewing repairs continue until two thirty. Visitors may bring one item per household. A free safety talk begins at ten fifteen in the side room and does not require registration. The bicycle station is outdoors and closes at noon if rain begins. Pickup for unfinished items is Monday between five and seven in the evening.
Your tasks
- Record the five time labels without confusing their activities.

Answer
Opening 9:30; appliance intake until 1:00; sewing until 2:30; safety talk 10:15; bicycle station may close at noon; unfinished-item pickup Monday 5:00–7:00 p.m.
How to reach it
- Pair every time with its noun phrase.
- Mark the rain condition beside the bicycle station.
- Keep Monday pickup separate from Saturday operations.
Evidence
The collection window is explicitly connected to unfinished items and Monday, unlike the Saturday activity times.
Review your attempt
- Could another reader understand every number from your labels?
- Did you preserve the conditional noon closure?
Take it further
Rewrite the announcement with two times changed, then update the grid without recreating it.
