Set Neighbour Access to the Rowanbank Shared Garden
The Rowanbank Housing Co-operative board is surveying residents about welcoming neighbours into its shared garden. Residents fund and maintain the garden, although nearby neighbours helped restore it after a windstorm. Some residents want to recognise that support; others rely on the garden for quiet time. The board is considering either a monthly open afternoon staffed by resident volunteers or visits arranged through individual resident hosts. Open afternoons offer predictable public access but need a volunteer rota. Hosted visits spread the responsibility but make access depend on knowing a resident.
