Downtown delivery space
Read the fictional viewpoints and answer the questions that follow.
The city proposes turning two downtown parking spaces on each block into timed loading spaces from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Leah Grant supports the proposal because delivery vehicles now stop in travel lanes or bicycle lanes when no legal space is available. She wants fifteen-minute limits, digital permits for commercial drivers, and clear signs. Leah acknowledges that nearby shops may lose some customer parking, but argues that reliable deliveries also support those shops.
